This lovely stucco-clad Pueblo West home was in need of a fresh coat of protection for its wood trim, and a little added curb appeal with a color change as well, from a faded brown that was now chipping and peeling, leaving eaves and doorways vulnerable to the elements. White was the choice but not just any white. The homeowners had recently seen how very bright white can make surrounding colors (like the stucco color) appear older and faded. The perfect choice on our PPG color specifier (which also matched window panes, mailbox, and lighting fixtures) was called "Quiet Hideaway." Our customary large area proof on an entire north door (smaller proofs just don't give you the amount of color needed to know for sure) proved us right, and we proceeded. Jeff and Dawn (the homeowners) were very happy. We also painted a lovely little storage outbuilding to match the home's stucco color and new trim color, making small repairs and sealing all nail holes and gaps as usual, making it look brand new. One last thing: the faded fiberglass front entry door. A darker, richer color was selected in a gel stain with UV filtering clear coat, which came off magnificently against the stucco and new trim colors. This project was a joy for us, and our clients may now enjoy their home's new look (and the protection that it provides) for many years to come.
