Peggy's Blank Canvas Range Hood

This project was a special joy, and the challenge of adding "just a little something" to a range hood in a lovely new custom home for Jeff and Peggy. The piece was lovely as is, yet Peggy knew that it could be a very special part of her design creation in this new kitchen. The trick: complement other design elements without competing for attention. We agreed that "less is more" and something subtle was in order. I used a simple glaze and lamb's wool technique with colors that we pulled from granite tops and cabinets. The result was pleasing to my client the artist. She noted that somehow even the wall colors were reflected in the end product. And she loves how, when the pendant lighting comes up, it seems to glow with a similar gold-tones. -So much fun!

Before: nice but needing something...

After: just enough....

That special glow....
