Before: nice but in need of warmth and new style

Before: Nana's kitchen was nice, with modern appliances, maple cabs and a pretty tile back splash created earlier by Artisan. But she wanted a color change and an upgrade in decor above the cabs. We suggested elements that reached up higher into the over-cab space than her current cookie jars and canisters, such as tall naturals with edibles (grains, beans) tied together with vines and lit up just a bit.

The colors were nice but clashed a bit with the warm tones of the wood. Also, she was over the stenciling at the top. So we got to work on color and design selection. Glass vessels were a nice pairing with the naturals, and reflected the over-cab lighting in lovely ways. An old art piece was transformed into a chalkboard to fill a special space, and wall fonts filled the spacious area above the cabs nicely.

Candles, rice, wheat, pasta, beans in glass complete the kitchen theme and reflect lighting nicely.

Now Nana's kitchen can continue its loving hospitality to hungry and thirsty family members and friends in style! It now stands ready for many more warm and wonderful times for years to come!
